Kick off the fall semester with the chapter. Returning members reconnect, new recruits meet the board, and we run informal study-group signups while sharing food and resources for the year ahead.
Fall Career Workshop
Industry recruiters on campus for one-on-one resume reviews, mock technical interviews, and a panel on landing your first SWE or ME role. The chapter's flagship fall professional-development event ahead of the recruiting cycle.
SHPE National Convention 2026

Indoor Field Day 2023
An afternoon of games, food, and music in the BU FitRec — relay races, cornhole brackets, and an open mic. The kind of low-stakes familia-bonding event that turns first-years into next year's officers.
LeaderSHPE Live 2023
Region 4 leadership development conference in Dallas. Two of the chapter's officers represented BU in workshops on chapter leadership, recruiting strategy, and national initiatives, and brought best practices back to the executive board.
Boston Scientific Company Visit
Joint visit with BU BMES to Boston Scientific's Marlborough campus. Engineers walked the group through R&D labs developing the next generation of cardiovascular devices, then sat for a panel on bio-engineering careers and recruiting timelines.
Money Matters Workshop with Capital One
Capital One led a hands-on personal-finance and budgeting workshop covering entry-level salaries, building credit, and saving for retirement before your first job. Chick-fil-A catered and members left with company-branded notebooks.
Navidad En Familia
The chapter's annual Christmas celebration — a white-elephant gift exchange, homemade traditional food from members' family recipes, and music until the building closed. The closing event of the fall semester and a chapter tradition.
SHPE National Convention
Charlotte, NC. The chapter's delegation flew down for a four-day immersion in the largest gathering of Hispanic STEM professionals in the country — a two-day career fair, recruiter interviews, workshops, and the closing-night familia gala.
Mechanical Workshop with EPIC
Toured EPIC's Boston facility for an afternoon with their engineering team. Members got a walkthrough of the lab, laser-cut their own SHPE logos as keepsakes, and stayed for Q&A with mechanical engineers about industry vs. grad school.
Resume Review with GE
Three General Electric engineers came to campus and sat one-on-one with members for an hour of resume feedback ahead of fall recruiting. Workshops like these are how members translate coursework into employer-ready signal.
Splash 2022
Welcomed incoming engineering students at the College of Engineering's annual Splash recruiting event. The board manned the SHPE table for two days of conversations, swag, and signups — the chapter's biggest recruiting push of the year.
Don't miss the next one.
