06 — FAQ
Do I need to be an engineering major?

No — SHPE welcomes all STEM majors and all class standings. The career fair recruits across engineering, computing, and the sciences.

What does registration include?

Full conference access: the STEM career fair (150+ companies recruiting onsite), technical and leadership workshops, the competitions, and specialty tracks for community-college, graduate, professional, and tech audiences.

What does BU SHPE cover?

The chapter travels as a group and subsidizes registration, flights, and lodging for registered delegates. The exact subsidy depends on funding each year — watch the mailing list for the current offer.

I've never been to a convention. Is it for me?

Especially for you. We run a prep bootcamp beforehand and travel as a group — first-timers are the reason the prep track exists.

When do I need to commit?

Register before the early-bird deadline (about mid-September) for the best rate. Watch the key-dates timeline above and the chapter mailing list for the locked delegation calendar.
